The video, directed by John Mazyck, showcases Goapele in a high fashion themed setting that is both mysterious and whimsical. "Tears On My Pillow", produced by Bobby Ozuna, is from her latest album Break of Dawn featuring collaborations with an array of creative folks including Kerry "Krucial" Brothers, Bobby Ozuna, Malay, Bedrock and Electric Thunderbolt. Fans will bare witness to a more free-spirited Goapele. “One of my goals for [Break of Dawn] was to be more uninhibited,” Goapele says. “I came into this business as a young woman who wanted to lay a foundation of musical integrity and now I’m more willing to share my sensuality as well. I realize that it’s possible to be both complex and provocative.” This is expressed in her new single, “Tears On My Pillow.”
Goapele makes her big screen debut this fall in the highly anticipated remake, “Sparkle.” The film stars the late, Whitney Houston, Jordin Sparks, Mike Epps, and Derek Luke to name a few. The film was directed by Salim Akil.
