Goapele, known for her enviable bone structure and sultry voice, is a top-shelf goddess. “Play,” from her forthcoming album Break of Dawn, is a very quick way to take your thoughts from afternoon grind to late night slow wind. In this rework, Dun and Rich of Los Rakas give it to us in Spanish over a subterranean bassline while Goapele breathily croons, This is what I’m dying to do. We’re in too. Live concert footage of Goapele at House of Soul

By: Theatrix | Tags: , ,

This year we were a late edition to KMEL’s House of Soul. Part of the reason was we really were contemplating possibly waiting to do the show for KMEL until we had our first official single release. Fortunately we decided to do the show it turned out to be the best show of the summer so far. The whole thing was kinda magical. The audio for the video doesn’t do the crowd justice but the imagery does. Enjoy!
